I was born in Northern Italy and, not unlike Obelix, fell into a cauldron full of Barbera. I was raised near the mountains and, after three years in Northern Germany, vowed never to live too far away from them again.

After five years of high school in the town where Nutella was invented (in case you were wondering, the smell of roasted hazelnuts is fun for the first three hours, and becomes disgusting afterwards), I have studied mathematics in Torino, which is the kind of city where you see the Alps when you wake up.

I have then spent three years in Münster, Northern Germany. I have been told that I have complained about Münster often and thoroughly. Nevertheless, those years spent pursuing a PhD in mathematics changed me on a fundamental level.

Nowadays, I have left research, but stayed in the general vicinity. I live in Trieste, once again in Northern Italy and close to the mountains, and spend as much time as possible staring at the sea. In the remaining time, I study science communication, write, and keep complaining.
