The ON-AIR <\/em>project<\/a> is a research project led by the Quantitative Biology group<\/a> and supported by Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo. I am responsible for every aspect of its communication<\/strong>, from graphic and web design to social media coverage, dissemination materials (videos), and outreach events.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Raccontare la conosc(i)enza<\/em> is a workshop on science communication<\/strong> supported through European and regional funds of Friuli Venezia Giulia. It was designed together with Raffaele Tarditi and with the gracious hospitality of Petit Soleil<\/a>, in Trieste. The participants went through the basics of science communication and stage execution and prepared a small talk (7-10 minutes) that was delivered in a show as part of Spring Festival.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Ottavia: I dati intorno a noi<\/em> is an educational activity targeted at high-school students from non-scientific Italian high schools (specifically so-called artistic<\/em> high schools) and supported by SISSA and Comune di Trieste<\/a>. I designed it alongside Daniela Volpatto as an entryway to the use of statistics<\/strong> and data visualisations<\/strong> to understand reality. Ottavia<\/em> included interactive activities, games, and a final project where pupils had to plan their own data visualisation in the form of a garment or an installation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

On A Tangent: Voices of Mathematics M\u00fcnster<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I designed the On A Tangent<\/em> podcast<\/a> as part of the outreach and science communication activities of the Cluster of Excellence Mathematics M\u00fcnster<\/em>. In each episode, I interviewed a different early career mathematician from the Cluster to explore the stories behind the mathematicians. A second season is currently being hosted and produced by Carlo Kaul.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Illustrations for Design principles and metrics for NbS<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The CEN Workshop Agreement is one of the outcomes of the NATURANCE<\/a> project, and it provides the first European guidance specifically dedicated to nature-based insurance and investment solutions. I have developed the graphical illustrations and visual cards, alongside the communications office of CMCC, to facilitate the dissemination and uptake of the contents of the Agreement. The full set of illustrations is available in the deliverable<\/a> and on the NATURANCE website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Visual identity of Escape Epidemic<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Escape Epidemic<\/em> is an educational board game<\/strong> where pupils discover the use of statistics, biology, and medicine to tackle the cholera epidemic of 1854. The game – a tabletop escape room – was built by research from the Quantitative Biology group<\/a> and presented in workshops and board games festivals. I designed the cover for the game.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
